Teaching Steps
Part I. Brief introduction of activities in touring. (20 minutes)
As the development of travel industry in China, more and more foreigner come to China to see historical remains and beautiful natural sceneries such as the Great Wall and Huangshan Mountain. A guide who can speak English may be so important during the course of touring for foreigners. Tourism is not just to see remains or sceneries. It includes a series of activities as the following:
1. Transportation.
Wherever you want to go, you need to use some transportation tools such as cars, trains, bus or planes. While in international tourism, traveling by air is the most common way.
2. Lodging.
A satisfactory travel will not last only for 1 day. Tourists often need to stay in the places for several days or even more. They will usually choose a hotel to stay in. For the staff in a hotel, it is necessary to grasp some hotel English. Or if we Chinese people travel to foreign countries, we must learn some English in order to communicate well when choosing a hotel.
3. Eating.
Chinese food is always attractive to foreigners, but it is not so easy for them to understand the Chinese food or even they cannot judge what the food is made of. To translate the names of food in a reasonable way will give a better instruction to them.
4. Viewing.
This is the most important part in traveling. The English names of places and their introduction will help the tourists to understand about the resorts or sceneries much better. T introduces about them by telling his own experience.
