现在进行时表示：（1）说话时正在进行或发生的动作；当前一段时间里的活动或现阶段进行的动作；（2）有时可表示将来的动作。 例：
He often (have) breakfast at home. Her sister (be) five years old. The twins (like) singing. The child (sing) now. They (visit) Beijing this week.
My mother (come) to Shanghai to see me tomorrow. 2．主体结构不同。 （1） 一般现在时：
主语 + be（am /is /are）+ 其它 +. (谓语动词是be)
主语(非第三人称单数) + 动词原形 + 其它 +. (谓语动词是行为动词)
主语(第三人称单数) + 动词第三人称单数形式 + 其它 +. (谓语动词是行为动词) 例:
She (be) a nice girl. My parents (work) in a shop. Mary (like) swimming. (2) 现在进行时: 主语 + am / is / are + v.-ing + 其它 +. 例: They (play) computer games. Tom (drink) milk. I (read) a story book.

(3)构成一般疑问句和否定句的方法不同: 否定句:
①一般现在时:主语+be(am/is/are)+not+其它+.
主语(非第三人称单数)+don’t + 动词原形+ 其它+. 主语(第三人称单数) +doesn’t + 动词原形 + 其它 +. ②现在进行时:主语 +be(am/is /are) + not +v.-ing +其它+. 一般疑问句:
①一般现在时: Am/Is /Are + 主语 +其它+?
Do + 主语(非第三人称单数) + 动词原形 + 其它 +?
Does +主语(第三人称单数) + 动词第三人称单数形式 + 其它 ②现在进行时: Am/Is /Are +主语+v.-ing +其它+? 特殊疑问句: 疑问词 +一般疑问句的句式?
例: 把下列句子改成否定句和一般疑问句及其回答并划线提问 They are teachers. Zhimin has lunch at school. He is watching TV. We go to our office by subway. The students are sleeping in the dormitory. (4)所用时间状语不同:
①一般现在时常和时间状语 always , often ,usually, sometimes, seldom , never, every day/month/year, once a year/week/month/day, in the morning 等连用
②现在进行时经常和时间状语 now, at the moment , today, these days等连用或在Look! Listen!等引出的句子中.
例: a) you usually (go) to school by bus?
