Forunknownreasons,somedairycowsbecomerecumbant–theylaydown.Thisconditioncanbeserious,andmayleadtodeathofthecow.Thesedataarefromastudyofbloodsamplesofover500cowsstudiedattheRuakura(N.Z.)AnimalHealthLaboratoryduring1983-84.Avarietyofbloodtestswereperformed,andformanyoftheanimalstheoutcome(survived,died,oranimalwaskilled)wasdetermined.Thegoalistoseeifsurvivalcanbepredictedfromthebloodmeasurements.Casenumbers12607and11630werenotedashavingexceptionalcare—andtheysurvived.Format
