A person I like
In the world, when I feel sad or want to cry, there always is a man giving me a strong shoulder; that is my father, an erudite, affable and decent man.
My father has an angular face, big eyes, straight nose and thin lip; he is of medium height, and slender build, and he likes to wear shirts, which make him look like an intellectual. A man who abounds in mind is charming, and my father is such a man. He wears a pair of glasses on his square face, which makes him look more gentle and wise. He is intellectual and scholarly, in that he is interested in reading extremely, and he reads a wide variety of books, newspapers, magazines, etc. Luckily I inherit it and this good habit influences me deeply. My father often says that one is never too old to learn, and he does so. He is forty-six years old, but he still learns English
courses by himself, and frequently encourages me to do better in my study. Once I heard from my grandmother that he was extremely diligent when he was in high school and finally was admitted to the Nanjing University, and became the only people who entered the university in my big family. I am so fortunate that I have a happy childhood, and the happiness comes from my father. In my memory, father is amiable, and he seldom loses his temper, no matter how naughty I am. He exhorted patiently me, rather than just punished, and then taught me to be more mature. However, he doesn't dote on me, and in some ways he is intensely strict with me. When I was a little child, I don't appreciate why he insisted on sending me to learn so many things, and with my growth, I appreciate my father's care. Some people say that fathers' love is silent. We often ignore them in daily life, but whenever we need, they're always there for us.
He is a decent man; his action always coincides with his words. He tells me to be an honest person, and he sends a good example for me. As a government official, he never accepts extra money, from which those people who want to get more profits. I am proud of having such a father.
My father is not only my father, but also my best friend in the world. When my mind is in a tangle or whatever I have trouble with, he helps me as far as feasible. At the same time, he also asks for my suggestions on his works and study from time to time. My father is an ordinary man, but as for me, he is the best father in the world.
