Extending/amending an L/C
? In reply to your letter of 17 June, we wish to inform you that we have instructed
our bank to amend the above L/C by inserting the following clause:
? Owing to the later arrival of the L/C, it is impossible for us to effect shipment
according to the date specified in the S/C. We are, therefore, compelled to request you to make amendments to the L/C by extending the time of shipment and validity to September 15 and 31 respectively.
? Please note that we require the amendment to L/C by the 30th September to
extend the validity to the 15th November.
? We regret to have found discrepancies between the stipulations of your L/C and
the terms of our S/C and hope you will make the necessary amendments immediately by fax so that we can ship the goods in time.
? We regretfully find some clauses that are not in conformity with the terms laid
down in our S/C. As the time of delivery is drawing near, please telex your amendment so as to avoid any delay in shipment of your order. Practice
