Our lifelong learning will only be a drop in the bucket compared with the total knowledge produced by human beings. Fortunately, the searching engine has become an effective means in acquiring knowledge. Human beings have an unidentified capability called “searching quotient” （SQ ），which refers to the ability to acquire knowledge with the aid of tools, namely, the capability of searching. Asking the way, checking the map, and looking through literature as well as using the searching engine are all embodiment of SQ.
SQ stresses the ratio of knowledge acquired to the time spent on such acquirement and thus concerns our efficiency, which can’t be done by our IQ or EQ. There is no denying we could not understand or store all knowledge produced by human beings even if we had the highest IQ, the largest brain capacity and the longest life span.
