格莱美奖 ——它们重要吗？
美国音乐界每年都会颁发一次格莱美奖。就像电影界颁发奥斯卡奖一样，它们是颁发给那些在音乐方面取得重大成就的人。
格莱美由美国唱片艺术学院(一个属于美国音乐界的专业音乐协会)颁发。颁奖典礼通常是在二月份举行。
该奖设有105个奖项，包括30种不同的音乐类型——流行、摇滚、爵士、蓝调、说唱、古典音乐等。美国唱片艺术学院的评委投票的数量决定谁是获奖者。格莱美奖的颁发有不同的理由，不仅仅只看唱片的销量。除了大奖本身之外，颁奖典礼上还有著名艺术家表演节目。
之所以冠名格莱美奖，是因为获奖者会得到一个留声机形状的雕像，留声机是一种过了时的高保真的音乐系统。
然而，有些人认为格莱美不再像过去那样重要了。“因为获奖者通常是比较年长而且已经成名的艺术家，经常总是向少女们和家庭主妇卖出很多唱片”，一位评论家就是这样说的。因此。格莱美并不被一些音乐家或音乐爱好者重视。
拉丁音乐也分设了一个奖项，称为拉丁格莱美奖，但是世界音乐也只设了两个奖项。因此来自世界其他地区的音乐人要获得大奖是非常不容易的。
在音乐史上，一些最伟大的音乐艺术家，比如埃尔维斯·普雷斯利(猫王)和滚石乐队很少获得格莱美奖。另一方面，“甲壳虫”乐队赢得的格莱美奖比猫王和滚石乐队加起来的奖项还多。

她们一开始演奏，就证明了“女子十二乐坊”的成员都位居世界上最有天赋的音乐家行列之中。 ★本句为复合句，the moment相当于连词，引导时间状语从句，意为“一??就??”；后面主句中的it为形式主语，the members of Twelve Girls Band are among the most gifted musicians in the world为真正的主语，引导词that被省略。
(1)表示“一??就??”的词或短语还有：the minute/the second/the instant, immediately/directly/instantly, as soon as, on＋n./doing等。 (2)hardly ...when ...，no sooner ...than ...句型也可表示“一??就??”，其中主句用过去完成时，when和than引导的从句用一般过去时。当hardly, no sooner置于句首时，主句要用部分倒装，即将助动词、系动词、情态动词提到主语之前。 ①I found myself in an entirely new world the moment I arrived in Beijing. 我一到北京就感到耳目一新。
②Please send me an email the instant you reach Yunnan. 请你一到云南就给我发一封电子邮件。
③Hardly had we began our walk when it began to rain. 我们刚刚开始散步就下起雨来了。
5. Drawing upon more than 1,500 years of Chinese music, Twelve Girls Band mixes this rich tradition with classical, folk and contemporary sounds.(P53)
