Lesson 16 Happy Thanksgiving!
【教学目标】
1．能够掌握课标要求的“四会”词汇：meal，conversation 2．了解庆祝感恩节的表达法。 3．了解一些庆祝感恩节的句式。 【教学重难点】
1．掌握一些与感恩节活动有关的词汇：meal，cook，turkey，thanks，help 2．激发学生兴趣，让学生学会介绍感恩节活动的情况。 3．掌握以下重点句子：
①On Thanksgiving Day，Jenny went to her grandparents’ house with her mother，father，sister，brother and Brian.
②Brian went to say hi to his cousins.
③Thanks to Jenny for all of her help，and thanks to all of you for welcoming me. ④But with all your help I feel at home now. 【课前准备】

一、创设情境，切入主题 Step 1 Lead－in Lead in by discussing the following question： How do people celebrate Thanksgiving Day in Canada and the U．S.？ Discuss in groups for three minutes.Then let some students present their answers in front of the class. 二、展开过程，探究新知 Step 2 Listening Listen to the tape and know about the main points of the passage.At the same time，fill in the blanks with the words you hear. 1.Jenny and Brian went to the kitchen to see their________. 2.Brian went to say hello to his________. 3.Brian felt________when he first came here. Finish the task in class in oral. Step 3 Reading Read the text and answer the following questions： Who opened the door for them？ What was Jenny’s grandmother doing when they went into the kitchen？ What did they have at the Thanksgiving dinner？ Read the text and finish the task in class in oral. Step 4 Practice Ask the students to write a short passage to introduce how to celebrate Thanksgiving. Work in groups to finish the task.After a while，let some groups present their passages in front of the class. When the students are preparing，the teacher walks around the classroom to solve the problems that probably happen. Step 5 Come to “Let’s Do It！”. Read the lesson and finish Exercise 1 together.Listen to the tape and finish off Exercise 2 together. 三、布置作业 Finish off Exercise 3 in “Let’s Do It！”.
