Unit 3 How do you get to school?

Section B (3a-Self Check)

一、教学目标

1. 句型:

(1) —How do you get to school? —I ride my bike.

(2) —How does she get to school? —She usually takes the bus.

(3) —How long does it take to get to school? —It takes about 15 minutes. (4) —How far is it from your home to school? —It's only about two kilometers. (5) —Does Jane walk to school? —No, she doesn't. She goes by bike. (6) —Do they take the bus to school? —No, they don't. They walk. 2. 写作:能够正确描述周围的人的出行方式。 3. 写:能根据所给材料向朋友介绍自己的出行方式。

4. 了解东西方国家出行方式的不同,以及不同的交通规则,教育学生注意交通安全, 加深对交通知识的了解。倡导自觉遵守交通法规及礼貌,构建和谐的人际关系。

二、教学重点及难点

重点:

1. 复习及综合运用表达出行方式的句型;

2. 能正确运用take,ride和by来表达某人的出行方式。 难点:运用所学的知识来正确表达某人的出行方式。

三、教学准备

四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up Make an interview.

Get Ss to make an interview about the transportation their family members use. How do/does… get to …? How long does it take to get to…? How far is it from… to …?

Do the words exercises in the unit.

【设计意图】通过词汇练习帮助学生们回顾本单元的主要词汇,为今天的写作任务做铺垫。 Step 2 Presentation Work on 3a

1. Get Ss to read the e-mail and fill in the blanks with the words in the box. 做题指导:首先,明白方框里单词的意思; 其次,阅读这封e-mail了解大意;

然后,认真读每一个句子,根据上下文及空格前后的关键词来确定空格处的意思。

并确定应用哪一个单词填空。

最后,再通读一遍短文,看短文是否通顺恰当。 2. Check the answers.

【设计意图】通过选词填空帮助学生熟悉介绍出行方式的邮件结构和写作思路。 Step 3. Production Work on 3b

1. Ask Ss to read the requirements of 3b. 2. Teach Ss how to finish this writing task.

3. T asks Ss to try to finish their writing according what they have learned today.

4. Ss enjoy others’ compositions in groups and encourage them to find out the beautiful sentences they can learn or they can also point out the mistakes they have made.

【设计意图】通过分析本单元的话题和进行写作思路的点拨,帮助学生快速掌握如何介绍出行方式,并尝试写作,完成写作任务。 Step 4. Practice Work on Self Check 1

1. Ss work in groups and try to write as many expressions as possible:

take a bus, by bus, take a train, by train, take a subway, by subway, ride a bike, by bike…. 2. Let some Ss read their answers. Let other students add more phrases. Note: by + 出行方式(不加the); take(ride) + a(the)出行方式 【设计意图】通过写短语,帮助学生们回顾交通方式的表达方式。

Work on Self Check 2 1. Get Ss to read the chart below.

2. Get Ss to write at least five questions with the information in the chart.

提示:根据表格提示,应有三种类型的问题:出行方式(How)、距离(How far)、所用的时间 (How long),对每个人都问这三个问题一次,然后根据表格中的提示来回答。 例如:—How does Tony get to school from home? —He gets to school by bike.

3. Get some Ss to read their sentences aloud in class.

【设计意图】通过写问句并根据表格作答,复习巩固本单元学习的提问出行方式的重点句型。 Step 5. Consolidation Do the exercises.
