1. What’s the matter?怎么啦?

What’s the matter?为医生就诊常用语。如果具体说到“某人如何?”时,可以用“What’s the matter with sb.?”来表达。常用的其它表达方式有:What’s wrong with you?和What’s your trouble?

2. Eating Dangshen and Huangqi herbs is also good for this. 吃党参和黄芪对这也有好处。

eating...herbs是 V-ing短语,在句中作主语。当某一V-ing短语作主语时,相应的谓语动词要用单数形式。如:Smoking too much is bad for your health. 吸烟太多有损你的健康。

3. I like your school in Beijing,but I’m not feeling very well at the moment. 我喜欢你在北京就读的学校,但现在我感到身体有些不舒服。 (1)well在句中是形容词,作feel的表语,意思是“身体好的”。需要强调的是,此处的well不能换用为good,因为good不能作表语来说明“健康状况”。 (2)短语at the moment 用在现在时态的句子中,意为“此刻、目前”,相当于now,其中the可以用this替换;当它用在过去时态的句子中,意为“那时”,相当于just then,相应的the可以用that替换。如:

There are still some difficulties at the/this moment.目前还有些困难。

4. I study late every night,sometimes until 2 am,but I don’t think I’m improving. 我每天晚上学习到很晚,有时甚至到凌晨两点,但我认为自己没有提高。 (1)句中的until为介词,意为“直到??为止”。在肯定句中,until通常与延续性动词连用;而在否定句中,until则通常与终止性动词连用。如:I shall stay here until next Sunday. 我将留在这儿一直到下星期天。

(2)当由think,believe等谓语动词引导的宾语从句表示否定意义时,从句中的否定词not通常前移,放在主句中。如:

I don’t think it’s a good idea.我认为这不是个好主意。 三、短语
