Unit 1 He shouted, 'Wolf, wolf!'

一、Aims:

1. Learn a famous traditional story and tell the pupils to be an honest man. 2. Learn to tell something in the past. 二、Focus:

1. Vocabulary: shout, wolf, once upon a time, look after, sheep, bored, village, everyone,

field, laugh, lie

2. Sentence pattern: There was a boy. He looked after sheep. The boy ran to the village. 三、Aids :

tape-recorder, cards, picture, computer, book 四、Teaching Process: Teacher’s Activity I. Warming up and Revision 1. sing a song“at the factory” 2. revise some verbs with the past simple II. Leading-in 1.sing together with the action 2. read together or row by row Students’ Activity 1. tell the students this is a famous European fable. Find 1.①draw their attention to the out if any of the children know the story 2. let the students talk about the story as they can and write new vocabulary on the board III. Listening & Reading Activities 1. play the tape picture story in their books ②listen and understand the dialogue first time 2. point to each picture and elicit as much information as possible and read the words in different ways 1. look and listen 2. play it again pausing after each utterance and perform 2.①read and point at the a simple gesture to indicate the meaning, for example, corresponding picture looking bored, being a wolf, etc. ②look and understand the meaning of the teacher 3. play the tape again and pause for the class to repeat 3. read and follow the tape with each utterance the action ⅳ. repeat this activity IV. Further Development 1. encourage the class to produce the whole story 2. let the Ss to tell the fable in turns 3. ask some questions according to this dialogue V. Homework 1. recite and act the dialogue freely 2. copy the vocabulary of this lesson four times
